What is Invisalign^® for teens?

Invisalign® treatment for teens works just like Invisalign® for adults – with one difference. Teen aligners are designed with blue wear indicators to help you remember to wear them for the recommended 22 hours a day.

Other than that, you can take your custom aligners out for meals, brushing and flossing, and important social events as needed! Although to be honest, the aligners are so discreet that most people won’t even notice you’re wearing them.

How Invisalign^® treatment for teens works

During your free consultation at Clear Orthodontics, we will use our cutting-edge digital scanner to make a 3D model of your smile. Dr Duncan can use this model to design your Invisalign® treatment from start to finish.

You will be given a series of custom aligners, where each set is shaped a bit differently. You will switch to a new set of aligners every two weeks from the comfort of your home, and this will slowly guide your teeth into alignment.

It’s as simple as taking a selfie

We don’t want to take time out of your routine, so instead of visiting us for regular appointments, you can check in with our team through the Dental Monitoring app. Just snap a selfie of your smile, send it to our team, and await our recommendations.

If everything is going well, we won’t need to see you at our practice until we’re ready to give you your next few sets of aligners. This means you can usually go 6 to 8 weeks between appointments!

Important tips for Invisalign^® treatment

During Invisalign® treatment, it’s important to take good care of your teeth and appliances. Here are our top tips to ease you through your treatment:

Take your aligners out when eating (or drinking coloured liquids), so you don’t damage or stain them.
Put your aligners in their case whenever you remove them. If you put them in a napkin, they might end up in the garbage!
Remember to wear your aligners for the recommended 20-22 hours daily. The blue dot wear indicator on the aligners will help you to keep track of this.
Gently clean your aligners when you brush your teeth.
Brush and floss your teeth after every meal and snack – before you put your aligners back in. This means you should keep a toothbrush in your school bag.
Keep your aligners away from pets – they love to chew on them!
Contact our team immediately if one of your aligners is lost or damaged.
